I love the formal manners of the Regency era...but sometimes they can be a bit too much. Today I'm at Collette Cameron's blog discussing formality, with particular reference to how well it's portrayed in the BBC series Pride and Prejudice (yes, the one starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, which I simply can't get enough of, in common with a great many other people).

Perfection (not) and comfort, aka Mr. Darcy. Also socks.

I'm over at Mari Christie's blog today because recently I watched Pride and Prejudice (the one with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy) and needless to say I loved it. And it was so comforting! I explain why over here at Mari's blog: http://wp.me/pyR9A-h1

Also, I've been meaning for ages to blog about the sock shop we went to while on holiday in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. (Great fun, lots of walking, a fabulous view from the top of one of the mountains.)

Anyway, there's a shop there called The Sock Shop, and it's heaven for a sock freak like me. I mean, just look at that selection! I wanted to buy at least two dozen pairs. (I settled for five -- two were gifts, two are for giveaways, and one is just for me. Unless I give it away.)

Here are my faves that I didn't buy (because they were longer than I usually wear).

This is because I loathe ostriches. (Long story from a safari trip in Swaziland eons ago.) In spite of my violent dislike of those obnoxious birds, I adore these socks.

TO KISS A RAKE pre-release blitz and $25 GC #giveaway!

Only a few days left. The blitz was yesterday and as usual I'm late, but the giveaway isn't over yet. Here's the rafflecopter:

The blitz is for my July release, To Kiss a Rake. I'm working on the sequel (which will probably have either 'Kiss' or 'Rake' in the title, but at this point, I have no idea, since I'm a scramble for a title at the last moment kind of writer).

And I'm thinking about the third story in the series (Scandalous Kisses is the series name, so yes, maybe 'Kiss' should be in each title...?). It has a very feisty, very bitter heroine. I just wrote a scene in which she was awfully rude to the heroine of the second story. Will I be able to redeem her? I hope so.

I'm over at Embracing Romance today talking about covers -- guess why? Of course it's because of the lovely cover of my upcoming release, To Kiss A Rake (which I already posted here, I know).

Do you have an opinion about half-naked men on romance novel covers? Do they imply too much about sex and not enough about love?
